Reflections And Other Such Things.

The end of the first marking period is drawing near, and I have successfully completed two pieces, my shoe drawing and my collage. Now we are going to move onto lanterns based on seasons. Not so sure how it will work though, with a candle and a paper lamp shade. It will probably ignite. Oh well. I'm just looking back on how I was at the beginning of the marking period, coming into this class barely knowing anything about art. I learned so many new techniques and skills to do different things! Specifically shading, and transfers. Those are really cool. As my next task approaches on Thursday, I'll think about what I want to do for the lantern...

Collage?

So my next president collage was about the issue of tax. My stand was that its too high, and should be lowered. Its mostly orange and red and other warm colors like that. I was unable to get a picture of it :P Oh well. Mostly, I did gloss medium transfers and added a newspaper base to work on, which was fun because it was backwards. Then I started the packing tape transfers. I put so much on my paper was basically covered in tape. To hide the shininess of the tape, I put the modeling paste over top, and it looks cool, and has a texture to it now.

Shoes. Yeah.

My shoe drawing turned out nice, there was a variety of shoes to draw, which was cool. I had a basketball shoe, a boot, a sneaker, and another boot. I used a different kind of shading than I'm used to, because I had different pencils at my disposal to choose from. It looks nice!

The First Post!

Alright, this is my first post on my blog. I've finished quite a lot of papers in class, some of which I might not use. I think they are coming along pretty nicely. Soon I will begin drawing shoes, one of which will be a pair of cleats (hopefully) from last year's soccer season. So that's my first post. Pretty successful, I'd say. (Not really).
